Dickson City, ID: Lawsuit against city for open carry incident

Here is my stance on the issue.

The conduct was lawful. The police have no business questioning people for doing lawful activities. Use speed limit for an example, say the speed limit is 55, and a law changes it to 65. The police may not like this. They may think it is a dumb idea that will cause more deaths. That is irrelevant. If they pull over people going 65, that is wrong. If they want to be very strict and pull over people going 66, that is fine.

The police are there to enforce the law. It is wrong for police to bring their personal ideology onto the job and cause difficulty to people who are obeying a law, even a law the officer may not agree with.

If you don't like the law, change the law.
